Do’s and Don’ts for Friends of Bereaved Parents

The J.O.S.H. Foundation have compiled a list of things to do (or not do) for people who have friends who have lost a child. This is an excellent slideshow, well-worth taking note of and circulating.

If you have not read them, please also spend some time reading Ian and Irene’s and Sue’s Stories of loss and recovery.

Deep hole in the path

Unknown-2I’ve seen this poem in various sources. I like it.

‘I walk down the street,
There’s a deep hole in the path.
I fall in.
I am lost…….I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault,
It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the same street,
There’s a deep hole in the path.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I’m in the same place, but,
It isn’t my fault.
